A Murder on the Grill

Ever seen those murder mystery dinner parties in a box? Very fun with the right crowd. Well, we had the right crowd for sure! Allow me to introduce to you the characters of our story:

Bobby Sox - hula hoop champion
Johnny Angel - tough mechanic

Chubby Cheddar - famous twistin' singer
Tiara Diamond - beauty queen of Kansas City

Ivan Spudnik - Russian rocket scientist
Barby Q - hot flirty divorcee

Dan Dragnet - actor playing a detective
Peggy Sue - gossip columnist

We each had our own booklet explaining various facts about ourselves and the others. Questions and accusations flew over hambugers and bottled Coke and root beer. It was finally revealed that Tiara, who was really Hope, her twin sister, was the killer.

It was a fun evening. Oscars go to Michael and Craig for their improv and perfect Russian accents! Thanks, everybody, for playing your part and pitching-in in the kitchen!

It's the little things

Brice and I got to get things done together this weekend! After running errands of getting an eye exam, renewing my drivers license, and dropping of the recycling, we headed to one of our favorite restaurants that is finally in the area . . .
Best burgers around! We split the amazing Whiskey River BBQ Burger - aka. heaven on a bun. We found dessert just down the shopping center.

I mean, what's better than a Coke Icee and a Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookie??

We headed home where Brice graded papers and I worked on a puzzle I got for my birthday.

Wanna borrow it, Mom?

After picking up Cole, Brice went to class while Cole and I finished the puzzle and watched cartoons! I think that falls into the top 10 days ever! I love getting things done and having fun with my family!!

So that brings you up to date on the Jacksons!

Our Little Leader

Cole's school gives the Principal's Leadership Award to various students throughout the year. Last week our boy was selected to receive the award! He got a certificate, ribbon, and the opportunity to be on Broadcast - the school's morning classroom TV program. Yea, Cole!!

We Love Chick-fil-A!

So last Monday was Labor Day and Chick-fil-A had another free food day. All you had to do was show up in your team's logo and you get 3 free chicken strips.

We're such a diverse family!

Catch-up

Haven't posted in a while, so today I'm playing catch-up. I'll open the day with our cute mischievous Macie.

We never did catch her mom but we've seen her around a few times lately.

Two nights ago I heard a cat screeching and traced it to the crawl space under our den. Just as we feared would happen, momma cat was having MORE kittens! Two didn't make it, but two survived. They're just little tiny fur balls! We're letting them stay long enough to get independent and then all three of them are going to the humane society!
