My 1st Silent Auction

Cole's school had its Spring Fling today. It's basically a Fall Festival, but in the spring! His class was in charge of the cake walk so Brice and I did our duty working the station. It was definitely the best place to be! Fun music, always a crowd, and air conditioned!

The gymnasium held tables filled with various goodies for the Silent Auction. Individual items and certificates lined a few of the tables while themed baskets filled the others. Cole's class was in charge of a "Gift Card Mania" basket with various restaurants represented. We did such a good job soliciting donations that we actually made two "baskets" for the auction. The room mother got cute bulletin boards to display the certificates. I definitely wanted to bid on one of those!

Brice and I scoped out the merchandise and narrowed our picks down to 6-7 items of interest. We made some bids and then left to take Cole to soccer. An hour later, just before the auction was scheduled to end, Brice went back to the school to check the status of our bids. We had been outbid on all of them so he made one more round and upped our bid on the top 5 that we wanted.

We won them all.

This represents 4 tickets to see "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" performed by a local theater group, 4 tickets to the Coca Cola museum (we are going to Atlanta in June), and the e-mail is referencing a free week of basketball camp for Cole this summer!

Plus we won two of the themed baskets. This one is called, "Parents' Night Out."

It's hard to see what all is represented there, so here's the list:

We are so psyched!

The other item was one of the restaurant bulletin boards I helped create. Oh yeah!

"How much was all that?" you ask. Not cheap, but trust me, we are saving so much date money over the next several months! Plus the ticket stuff for the summer is much less than we would have paid retail. And it's all for the school anyway!! :-)
